Fidel Castro International Brigade tours Venezuelan communes

Members of the Fidel Castro International Brigade, organized by Alba Movimientos, recently toured Venezuelan communes to observe local community organization and productive projects. The delegation includes activists from nine Latin American countries: Brazil, Argentina, Colombia, Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Chile, and Panama.

During the visit, participants toured the El Panal 2021 Commune in Caracas, a territory housing approximately 10,000 families. The brigade members interacted with the community to study models of self-governance and local educational and productive initiatives. Representatives stated the goal of the tour was to demonstrate international solidarity with the Venezuelan political process and to study methodologies for replicating territorial organization in their home countries.
