Fidel Kuri seeks return of Tiburones Rojos to Veracruz

Fidel Kuri Grajales, former owner of the Tiburones Rojos de Veracruz, has publicly stated that he is working to bring the professional football team back to Veracruz. Kuri claims that legal and judicial processes are advancing favorably to facilitate the team's return.

Kuri leveled accusations against the Mexican Football Federation (FMF) and Grupo Salinas, alleging they collaborated in a strategy to strip the team from the people of Veracruz. He further criticized businessman Ricardo Salinas Pliego, claiming Salinas Pliego attempted to seize assets that did not belong to him.

Reflecting on his previous imprisonment, Kuri described his time in jail as a “kidnapping,” alleging that his incarceration was part of a coordinated agreement between a judge, Grupo Salinas, and the FMF to remove him as an obstacle during a period when there was no promotion or relegation in Mexican football. He noted that he has been in communication with Veracruz Governor Rocío Nahle, who expressed interest in the team's return.
