Fidelity Bank shareholders praise strong capital growth
Shareholders of Fidelity Bank Plc expressed support for the bank’s board and management during the institution’s 38th Annual General Meeting held on October 9, 2026. The praise focused on the bank’s ability to strengthen its capital base, improve asset quality, and maintain earnings growth despite difficult operating conditions.
Key financial indicators cited include a non-performing loan ratio of 2.4 percent and a capital adequacy ratio of approximately 16.1 percent. Following a N227.05 billion private placement in December 2025, the bank increased its eligible capital from N305.5 billion to N532.6 billion. This move successfully positioned the bank above the N500 billion minimum capital requirement for institutions with international authorization.
Board Chairman Amaka Onwughalu stated that the bank remains committed to building a sustainable institution through innovation and long-term value creation.
