Fidesz conducts internal survey to assess party status after election loss

Following an electoral defeat, the Fidesz party is conducting a comprehensive internal assessment to evaluate its organizational, infrastructural, and personnel status. According to MP János Pócs, approximately 28,000 party members participated in a recent internal survey, a figure he describes as record-breaking participation compared to previous assessments.

Pócs stated that the questionnaire was compiled by Viktor Orbán during his summer break and covers topics ranging from the current state of the country to the party's leadership and the future of the political community. The goal is to identify the causes of the recent electoral loss and determine necessary changes to rebuild the party's political presence.

In addition to the survey, János Lázár has been traveling across the country to visit local party organizations to gather direct feedback on the party's condition. Lázár, who resigned his parliamentary mandate on August 20, is expected to prepare a report on the findings by September.

Fidesz communications director Bertalan Havasi did not confirm the specific number of respondents but noted that the survey is intended solely for internal use and will not be released to the public.
