Fidesz MP warns of 1,700 job losses due to factory closures

Fidesz MP André Palóc has criticized the Hungarian government for a lack of effective employment policy following reports of widespread factory closures. Palóc stated that approximately 1,700 jobs are at risk due to several facilities shutting down.

Specific closures include a large bicycle factory in Tiszócsebes affecting over 400 workers, an enamel factory in Bonyhád impacting 150 families, and a production halt at the Electrolux plant in Jászberény involving 600 jobs. Additionally, an auto parts supplier in Győr is expected to close, endangering 500 positions. There is also uncertainty regarding 2,000 jobs in Sárvár, as reports suggest production may be relocated to a neighboring country.
