Fidesz presidency to review party organizational assessment next week
The Fidesz party presidency is scheduled to meet next week to discuss a report regarding a comprehensive organizational assessment of the party. The assessment, which covers organizational, infrastructural, and personnel status, was commissioned by Viktor Orbán and the party presidency to be conducted by János Lázár.
According to Bertalan Havasi, the communications director of the opposition party, the goal of this assessment is to ensure Fidesz enters the autumn political season as a unified and consistent force. The presidency will evaluate the findings and make necessary structural, personnel, and organizational decisions based on the report.
This internal review follows the resignation of János Lázár from his parliamentary mandate on August 20. The party presidency is also expected to decide on a replacement for his vacated seat from the national list. Lázár is one of several high-profile members, including Péter Szijjártó and Gyula Budai, who have recently resigned their parliamentary mandates.
