Fielmann and Vetropack report lowered financial outlooks
Optician group Fielmann has lowered its 2026 financial guidance due to weak consumer sentiment in its primary market, Germany. The company now expects revenue growth of 2% to 5%, reaching between €2.5 billion and €2.55 billion, down from previous estimates of €2.55 billion to €2.6 billion. Adjusted EBITDA projections have also been reduced to a range of €560 million to €580 million, compared to the former target of €590 million to €610 million. Despite the downward revision, management anticipates an acceleration in revenue growth during the second half of the year driven by expansion and productivity gains.
Separately, Swiss glass packaging manufacturer Vetropack reported a decline in first-half 2026 performance. Revenue fell by 2.0% to 404.6 million Swiss francs, while adjusted EBIT dropped 27% to 16.6 million Swiss francs. The company cited price pressure from overcapacity and higher energy and transport costs as primary challenges. However, Vetropack has slightly raised its full-year revenue outlook and plans to present a revised 2035 strategy at a capital market day in September.
