A 52-year-old man, Bledar Bakaj, has been arrested by Fier police following a violent incident involving the systematic abuse and kidnapping of 34-year-old Merita Grëmaj.
According to the victim's father, Enver Grëmaj, the suspect attacked him with a shovel after he attempted to protect his daughter. The family reports that the victim was held against her will for 45 days. The suspect had previously gained the family's trust by promising employment assistance. The victim is currently receiving medical care at the Fier hospital, where her family is seeking justice.
