Fier shooting investigation reveals history of stalking
Details have emerged from the investigative file regarding a violent incident in Fier, Albania, where Refit Buzi shot and killed the parents of his former fiancée, Rozalinda Plaka, before committing suicide.
According to prosecution documents, the 35-year-old Buzi had a history of stalking the 23-year-old Plaka. Despite a protection order in place, Buzi reportedly continued to contact and follow her near the Fier Regional Hospital where she was completing her nursing internship. The victim testified that Buzi once forced her into his vehicle and drove her toward a hotel in Novoselë, where he threatened self-immolation if she did not comply with his demands.
Buzi had previously served several months in prison for stalking-related offenses. Following his release in March, the harassment persisted. During the fatal incident in July, Buzi held Plaka hostage for several hours before negotiating her release with police, after which he took his own life inside his vehicle.
