Fier wildfires: Deputy Luan Baçi criticizes government response

Democratic Party Deputy Luan Baçi has criticized the government's response to devastating wildfires in the Fier region of Albania. The fires have caused significant damage to olive groves, orchards, soil, homes, and livestock stables in areas including Radostin Fasko, Vadhizë, Levan, and Peshtan i Vogël.

Baçi accused state structures of failing to control the flames, claiming the fires only subsided because there was nothing left to burn. He disputed official government claims that the situation was under control, describing such statements as propaganda. He noted that residents are fearful for their safety and that the Frakulla area is currently at risk.

Furthermore, Baçi reported technical difficulties in the emergency response, alleging that one helicopter was out of service and another was unable to stabilize the situation. He called for urgent measures to protect residents' lives and property, warning against delayed interventions.
