Massive wildfires have swept through several regions of Albania, with the most severe impact reported in the tourist destination of Himarë. In Himarë, the fire spread rapidly through the '1 Maji' neighborhood, destroying several homes—including both inhabited and unoccupied residences—and causing significant damage to olive groves. Approximately 36 residents and various tourists were evacuated from high-risk areas as a precautionary measure.

The Ministry of Defense reported a total of 21 fire outbreaks across the country, with 11 remaining active. Significant firefighting operations are ongoing in Fier, Shkodër, Mat, and Dajt. In the Fier region, fires have affected olive plantations and forests, leading to the evacuation of around 15 families.

Emergency response efforts have mobilized hundreds of personnel, including local fire services, police, and approximately 550 members of the Armed Forces. Aerial support, consisting of four helicopters and one Air Tractor aircraft, has been deployed to combat the flames. While the fire in Himarë's '1 Maji' neighborhood has been brought under control, authorities continue to monitor active hotspots and assess the full extent of the material damage.
