Tuscany President Giani meets US Consul General Joe Tordella

Tuscany Regional President Eugenio Giani met with Joe Tordella, the United States Consul General in Florence, at Palazzo Strozzi Sacrati to discuss strengthening bilateral relations. The discussions focused on the evolving geopolitical scenarios in Europe and the Mediterranean, as well as the historical ties between Tuscany and the United States.

Giani highlighted the long-standing diplomatic connection dating back to 1818 and the cultural exchanges between the Anglo-Saxon and Tuscan worlds. He specifically referenced the historical link between Filippo Mazzei and Thomas Jefferson. Consul General Tordella emphasized opportunities to bolster commercial and cultural ties, noting that a priority is collaborating with local authorities to support the many American tourists, students, and residents in the region while developing opportunities for American businesses in Italy.
