FIESC develops climate intelligence platform for Santa Catarina industry

The Federation of Industries of the State of Santa Catarina (FIESC) is developing a climate intelligence platform to estimate and monitor greenhouse gas emissions within the state's industrial sector. Developed through the Decarbonization Hub and in partnership with the FIESC Observatory, the tool will consolidate data from various sources, including corporate inventories and SENAI surveys, to provide detailed insights by sector, municipality, and production chain.

The platform aims to support decarbonization strategies and help exporting companies meet increasing global climate regulations. A public version is expected to be available between late 2026 and early 2027. Additionally, SENAI is conducting a sectoral emissions inventory for 2025/2026, offering free participation for medium-sized companies to develop corporate inventories.

In a separate institutional move, FIESC has launched a new brand positioning titled ‘Our strength comes from people,’ emphasizing the human element of the industrial sector. This follows a year in which the federation invested R$ 391.4 million in education, health, and industrial transformation. In Santa Catarina, the industrial sector accounts for 28.7% of the state's GDP and employs over 934,000 people.
