Fiesta Brava to manage San Cristóbal and Mérida bullfighting fairs

For the first time in nearly 50 years, the management of Venezuela's two most significant bullfighting events will be unified under a single organization. Fiesta Brava, led by president Juan José Guerrero, will oversee both the Feria Internacional de San Sebastián (FISS) in San Cristóbal and the Feria del Sol in Mérida.

The two fairs are scheduled closely together, separated by only five to six business days, a timing intended to boost the economy of western Venezuela at the start of the year. Guerrero noted that these events are positioned among the five most relevant bullfighting festivals in Latin America.

The upcoming season will feature international bullfighters, including Alejandro Talavante, David de Miranda, Emilio de Justo, and Víctor Hernández, alongside local favorites such as David Fandila and Venezuelan matador Jesús Enrique Colombo. The official lineups will be presented on November 20 in San Cristóbal and November 27 in Mérida. Additionally, the FISS 2027 will commemorate the 60th anniversary of the Monumental ‘Hugo Domingo Molina’ bullring.
