Fiesta de Apadrinando celebrates gaucho traditions in Rivadavia
The 19th edition of the traditional Fiesta de Apadrinando took place in América, Rivadavia, bringing together community members and visitors to celebrate Argentine gaucho traditions. Organized by the Pires family, the multi-day event featured various activities including jineteadas (horse riding skills), baptisms, musical performances, and peñas.
Despite rainy weather and low temperatures, the festivities continued at the Vivero Forestal's training field. Highlights included a Misa Criolla and the baptism of Efrén and Tahiel, grandsons of organizers Daniel Pires and Adriana Parentini. The event also featured a raffle where a winner from Villa Veinticinco secured a new Volkswagen Amarok. Local authorities, including Rivadavia Mayor Juanci Martínez, attended the celebrations, noting the importance of such events in maintaining regional cultural identity and community bonds.
