Fiesta del Poncho nominated for international tourism award

The Fiesta Nacional e Internacional del Poncho is competing again for the ‘Event of the Year’ award at the Pasaporte Abierto international awards. Organized by the World Organization of Tourism Journalism (OMPT), the award recognizes tourism celebrations that attract visitors and generate economic impact for local producers and merchants.

To celebrate OMPT’s 15th anniversary, the voting process has changed to an open public vote. Interested participants can vote via Instagram by commenting on a specific post and mentioning the official Fiesta del Poncho account. The voting period remains open until September 5.

The Fiesta del Poncho previously won the ‘Event of the Year’ title in the 2025 edition. The upcoming awards ceremony is scheduled for November in Campos do Jordão, Brazil.
