Fiesta del Talar celebrates 31st edition in General Madariaga

The 31st edition of the Fiesta del Talar is scheduled to take place from October 26 to November 1 at the Puesto La Invernada Municipal grounds in General Madariaga. Organized by the Cooperadora of Escuela Nº 15 ‘Batalla de Tucumán’, the seven-day event focuses on traditional gaucho skills and rural culture.

Key activities include a 30-kilometer traditional horseback ride starting Monday, followed by folk music performances and various competitions. The schedule features horse lassoing exhibitions, ‘rueda de basto’ contests, and jineteada championships. A notable international challenge is planned for Saturday, featuring representatives from Argentina, Brazil, and Uruguay.

Approximately 2,000 riders are already registered for the traditional ‘prueba de riendas’ competition. The event includes diverse programming such as football matches between provincial riders, children's activities, and specialized horse competitions.
