Fiesta Nacional de los Estudiantes elections see violence in San Pedro and success in Jujuy

Preparations for the 2026 Fiesta Nacional de los Estudiantes (FNE) are underway in Argentina, marked by both celebrations and conflict. In San Pedro, the election at the Colegio Provincial de Misiones de La Esperanza turned violent when parents and relatives, dissatisfied with the results, attacked the jury and engaged in physical altercations in front of students and children.

In contrast, the Colegio Secundario de Arte Nº42 in Jujuy successfully held its election, crowning Ingrid Santillán as its 2026 representative. The institution also named Lihue Cabana as 1st Representative and Fátima Cisneros as 2nd Representative.

The upcoming 75th edition of the FNE includes a variety of scheduled activities such as the Pintada Estudiantil, float parades, and the provincial representative election in September.
