FIFA and Google roll out new fan services for 2026 World Cup
FIFA has introduced a paid service called “Super Shoutout” that lets fans have their name or a short text displayed on the stadium screen before a chosen match of the 2026 World Cup. The offering costs $79, must be ordered at least 72 hours in advance and is subject to FIFA’s right to edit, shorten or reject the request. The organization estimates the service will contribute to a projected $13 billion revenue stream for the 2023‑2026 tournament cycle.
During the same period, Google is making its AI‑driven search features, previously limited to paid Google One subscribers, available for free to all users. The new AI Mode generates interactive visualisations that explain tactics, formations and player roles, and enhances match cards with live scores, line‑ups and tournament tables. Google says the tools aim to help fans follow the World Cup more easily and engage with the event’s tactical nuances.
