FIFA and Paraguay relaunch Football for Schools program

Paraguay has joined a global initiative to relaunch the ‘Football for Schools’ (F4S) program through a partnership between the national government, the Paraguayan Football Association (APF), and FIFA. The program aims to progressively integrate football into educational institutions to promote inclusion, social development, and the teaching of values among children.

As part of this new phase, Paraguay is one of only 12 countries selected worldwide to participate, with President Santiago Peña noting that the country has also been proposed as a global training hub. The initiative includes training for teachers and instructors using methodologies specifically adapted for the school environment.

The implementation relies on a tripartite cooperation model: the APF provides technical and sporting expertise, FIFA provides methodology and training, and the Paraguayan government facilitates integration with the national education system. This follows an earlier iteration of the program in 2019 that targeted approximately 100 schools.
