FIFA Football for Schools program expands in Dominican Republic
The FIFA Football for Schools program has launched a new initiative in the Dominican Republic to promote school football in the provinces of Azua, Peravia, and San José de Ocoa. Educational centers within Regional 03 received footballs as part of the program, which aims to integrate the sport into the formal educational process to foster personal and social skills among children and adolescents.
This international initiative is a collaboration between FIFA and UNESCO. In the Dominican Republic, its implementation involves the Dominican Football Federation (FDF), the National Institute of Physical Education (INEFI), the Ministry of Education, and the Ministry of Sports and Recreation. The program is designed to use football as a tool for empowerment and development, targeting approximately 700 million children globally by linking physical activity with educational curricula.
