FIFA imposes player registration bans on 11 Argentine clubs

FIFA has issued registration bans against 11 Argentine football clubs, preventing them from registering new players for both domestic and international transfers until outstanding debts are resolved. The list of affected institutions includes San Lorenzo, Banfield, Colón de Santa Fe, Gimnasia y Esgrima La Plata, Gimnasia y Esgrima (Jujuy), Huracán, Platense, Quilmes, Nueva Chicago, Villa Dálmine, and Sol de Mayo.

Colón de Santa Fe specifically faces five separate inhibitions recorded by the international governing body. While the exact claimants and amounts remain undisclosed, reports suggest the claims may relate to training compensation rights.

Under these disciplinary sanctions, clubs may sign contracts with new players, but those individuals are prohibited from participating in official matches or friendlies until the bans are lifted. The restrictions remain in effect until the clubs resolve the underlying legal or financial disputes.
