FIFA keeps Brazil vs Norway World Cup match at 5 p.m. despite Mexico City storm risks

FIFA confirmed on 3 July that the Round of 16 match between Brazil and Norway will remain scheduled for 17:00 Brasília time on 5 July, and the Mexico‑England game will start at 21:00. The governing body rejected proposals to move the fixtures after concerns about possible heavy rain, flooding and public‑security issues in Mexico City. Earlier in the tournament, matches in the capital had been delayed by storms, prompting intense discussions among organizers, teams and local authorities. The Brazil‑Norway game will be the final World Cup match played in Mexico, with all quarter‑finals onward set for venues in the United States.
