FIFA President Gianni Infantino to visit Jakarta in October 2026

FIFA President Gianni Infantino is scheduled to visit Jakarta in October 2026. During his visit, he is expected to meet with Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto on October 4, followed by attending the closing ceremony of the inaugural FIFA ASEAN Cup on October 5 at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium.

The visit coincides with significant football development cooperation between FIFA and the Indonesian Football Association (PSSI). Key initiatives include the construction of a National Training Centre in the New Capital City (IKN) supported by FIFA Forward funding, the Football for Schools program, and the establishment of the FIFA Hub in Jakarta to support 21 member associations in Southeast and East Asia.

Separately, Infantino has confirmed his candidacy for re-election as FIFA President in 2027. Support for his leadership remains divided across the six global football confederations. While UEFA shows significant opposition, support remains strong in the AFC, with Indonesia among the nations maintaining its backing for his re-election.
