FIFA President Gianni Infantino visits Prague to discuss Czech football development
FIFA President Gianni Infantino visited Prague to discuss the development of football in the Czech Republic. During the visit, Infantino met with officials from the Football Association of the Czech Republic (FAČR), government ministers, and the coaching staff of the Czech national team.
The discussions focused on financial support for five specific projects: football in schools, infrastructure development, the FIFA Arena, youth program development, and a women’s football festival. These initiatives are supported through the FIFA Forward program.
The visit occurred amid ongoing tensions between FIFA and UEFA regarding the FIFA Forward Enterprise project, which involves private investors and the sale of commercial rights. While FAČR President David Trunda expressed support for the pragmatic benefits of cooperating with FIFA, some members of the FAČR executive committee, such as Jaroslav Tvrdík, raised concerns regarding the need for collective internal discussion and the potential impact on relations with UEFA.
