FIFA recognizes Tahitian football development as Le Gosier seeks facility funding

FIFA has highlighted the Tahitian Football Federation (FTF) for its efforts in developing football in French Polynesia. Despite geographical and topographical challenges, the FTF has been proactive in strengthening the sport by investing in infrastructure and training programs. FIFA’s development programs have supported these initiatives, aiding in the structuring of clubs, training, and the overall progress of the sport in the region.

In Guadeloupe, the Mayor of Le Gosier, Michel Hotin, met with the French Football Federation (FFF) in Paris to discuss funding for renovating local sports facilities. The discussions focused on the Amateur Football Aid Fund (FAFA), which can provide up to 30% co-financing for municipal projects. Identified sites for potential renovation include the Montauban municipal stadium and fields in Saint-Félix, Belle-Plaine, and Mare-Gaillard. These improvements aim to modernize infrastructure for local clubs and prepare for upcoming international matches in Guadeloupe.
