FIFA sells pieces of 2026 World Cup final turf for $450 each
FIFA announced that fragments of the grass to be used for the 2026 World Cup final at MetLife Stadium will be sold as collectibles. Each piece, described as measuring 17.5 × 17.5 (unit not specified), is priced at $450 and will be preserved in acrylic with an attached USB keepsake. The items will be shipped only to addresses in the United States and Europe after the final on July 19.
The sale comes amid criticism of FIFA’s pricing for the tournament, which includes tickets costing up to $32,970 and hospitality packages above $30,000. Players and coaches have also voiced concerns about the quality of the MetLife surface, which is normally an artificial field for NFL games.
