FIFA sets conditions for Chilean football restructuring

FIFA representatives Jair Bertoni and Mariano Zavala have arrived in Chile to oversee the organizational restructuring of Chilean football following the enactment of the Professional Sports Corporations Law (SADP). The new legislation mandates the separation of the National Association of Professional Football (ANFP) from the Chilean Football Federation (FFCH).

FIFA has established specific conditions for this transition. According to reports, the winner of the upcoming presidential elections on November 19 will serve only as the president of the Chilean League. A separate election will be required to determine the board of the Chilean Football Federation.

Pablo Milad, the current president of both organizations, will remain in charge of the Federation on a provisional basis until February to lead the transition. The new statutes for the Federation must be approved by November 30 to allow for the subsequent election of a new leader. These measures have reportedly caused dissatisfaction among presidential candidates, including Jorge Uauy.
