FIFA warns against unauthorized World Cup 2026 ticket sales in Ghana
FIFA issued a legal disclaimer on June 16, 2026 warning that Match Experience Hospitality (MEH) in Accra is selling World Cup 2026 tickets, hospitality and travel packages without FIFA authorization. FIFA said the company is not an official ticketing agent or hospitality partner, and any transactions with it are at the purchaser’s risk, potentially constituting ambush marketing and infringing FIFA’s commercial rights. MEH responded that it will cooperate with authorities and review the claims.
FIFA also highlighted its official resale/Exchange Marketplace, launched on Oct. 2, 2025 and reopened on Apr. 2, 2026, as the only verified channel for secondary ticket sales. The platform charges a 15% fee to sellers and buyers, verifies tickets originating from the primary sale, and is available to U.S., Canadian and Mexican fans through separate portals. FIFA recommends fans use this marketplace to avoid fraud and protect the integrity of the tournament’s commercial programme.
