The 2026 FIFA World Cup drove massive engagement across digital social platforms. TikTok reported that tournament-related content generated 1.2 trillion views globally, marking the largest content moment in the platform’s history. The official @fifaworldcup account alone garnered nearly 28 billion views and 1.7 billion likes, while the use of the #FIFAWorldCup hashtag increased by nearly 1,700% compared to the 2022 tournament.
Social interaction also surged on dating platforms.
