FIFA World Cup 2026 final ceremony set for New York amid weather concerns

FIFA announced that the closing ceremony for the 2026 World Cup will take place on Sunday, 19 July, at the stadium in New York, 90 minutes before the final match. The 90‑minute program will feature Italian singer Laura Pausini, British pop star Robbie Williams, American vocalist Nicole Scherzinger, internet personality IShowSpeed and an appearance by Hollywood actor Tom Cruise. Jennifer Hudson will perform the U.S. national anthem, and the show is being produced by Balich Wonder Studio, combining music, culture and football.

Organisers warned that adverse weather could force a postponement of the open‑air final, scheduled for 21:00 at the nearby New Jersey venue that seats 82,500 spectators but has no roof. Forecasts predict temperatures around 28 °C with a risk of thunderstorms, prompting officials to monitor conditions closely as safety for players, fans and staff is paramount.
