FIFA World Cup 2026 generates $3.5 billion for NY and NJ
The 2026 FIFA World Cup generated a total economic impact of $3.5 billion across the New York and New Jersey region, according to an analysis by Tourism Economics. This figure exceeded the previous projection of $3.3 billion.
Direct spending during the tournament reached $1.9 billion. The event also created more than 27,000 jobs and generated $1.4 billion in labor income. Additionally, the tournament contributed over $414 million in state and local tax revenue for the region.
