Adidas unveiled the official FIFA World Cup 2026 match ball, named “Trionda”, equipped with a side‑mounted inertial measurement unit (IMU) that records acceleration and rotation at 500 Hz. The chip adds only 14 g to the ball, runs for about six hours on a charge, and builds on technology first used at the 2022 World Cup.

Seventeen FC Bayern Munich players were nominated for the tournament, with fifteen featuring in matches on the opening day across the United States, Canada and Mexico.
