FIFA World Cup 2026 Opening Ceremony Features Andrea Bocelli and EJAE Performing Official Anthem “DNA”

The opening ceremony of the 2026 FIFA World Cup took place on 11 June at Mexico City’s Azteca Stadium. The tournament’s official anthem, titled “DNA,” was performed live by Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli and South Korean singer‑songwriter EJAE. The song, co‑written with producer David Guetta and rapper Megan Thee Stallion, blends Bocelli’s operatic vocals with contemporary pop elements, symbolising the event’s global fan community.

Bocelli praised the honor, saying football has accompanied him since childhood and the anthem “will remain a special memory.” EJAE highlighted the chance to represent South Korea and recalled the unity felt during the 2002 World Cup. The performance was part of a star‑studded show that also featured Shakira, Burna Boy and national‑anthem singers for Mexico and South Africa, marking the launch of the first World Cup jointly hosted by Mexico, the United States and Canada across 48 national teams.
