FIFA World Cup 2026 Closing Ceremony and Halftime Show Features Global Music Superstars
The 2026 FIFA World Cup final will be preceded on 19 July by a closing ceremony at MetLife Stadium in New York/New Jersey. The event will showcase a star‑studded lineup that includes Laura Pausini, Robbie Williams, Nicole Scherzinger, Tom Cruise, IShowSpeed and Jennifer Hudson, who will perform the tournament’s official anthem “Desire” in English and Spanish.
A historic first‑ever half‑time show, curated by Coldplay’s Chris Martin, will feature co‑headliners Justin Bieber, Madonna, Shakira and BTS, alongside Burna Boy, conductor Gustavo Dudamel, the PS22 Chorus with a Coldplay cameo, and characters from Sesame Street and The Muppets. FIFA is targeting a roughly 20‑minute interval, longer than the usual 15‑minute break.
The show supports the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, which aims to raise $100 million for education and football opportunities for children worldwide, with $1 from each ticket already pledged. In parallel, Adidas has unveiled the new “Trionda” ball for the semifinals and final, featuring a sensor‑enabled “Connected Ball” system, and FIFA has announced the sale of authentic grass fragments from the stadium for $450 each.
