FIGA celebrates 10 years and transitions to intercultural format

The Festival Intercolegial de Gaitas y Artes (FIGA) is marking its tenth anniversary by evolving from a traditional inter-school competition into an intercultural encounter. This transition aims to expand participation beyond student delegations to include community collectives and various traditional artistic expressions from the Carabobo region and Venezuela.

According to festival director María Fernanda Mendoza, the event has grown into a sustainable cultural and socioeconomic movement that stimulates the local creative ecosystem and generates employment. The festival was recently recognized as a leading brand in the Orange Economy for the state of Carabobo by Fedecamaras Carabobo.

The upcoming event is scheduled for the 21st and 22nd, with more than 16 schools and institutions expected to participate.
