FIGC President Giovanni Malagò announces new leadership appointments

The Italian Football Federation (FIGC) is restructuring its organizational hierarchy under President Giovanni Malagò. Alessandro Catapano has been appointed as the spokesperson for the President, effective September 1, 2026. Catapano, a veteran with extensive experience in sports journalism and institutional communication, will manage media relations and institutional activities directly linked to the presidency.

Additionally, Luca Bergamini is expected to join the federation in the role of head of staff. Bergamini, a lawyer and former futsal player, brings significant experience from the world of five-a-side football. These appointments are part of a broader effort by Malagò to reshape the federation's structure with trusted profiles in strategic roles.
