Figure AI humanoid robot completes nine-day endurance test
The Figure 03 humanoid robot, developed by the American company Figure AI, has completed an endurance test by walking continuously on a treadmill for nine consecutive days. During this period, the robot covered approximately 560 kilometers (348 miles) and recorded roughly 1.2 million steps.
According to Brett Adcock, founder and CEO of Figure AI, the demonstration was designed to evaluate the durability of the robot's mechanical components and control systems under prolonged use. The test aimed to identify potential failures in the numerous joints, motors, and sensors required for coordinated movement and balance.
The Figure 03 is designed for domestic and commercial applications, featuring visual perception systems and artificial intelligence. Its design includes cameras in the palms to assist with object manipulation and soft materials to reduce pressure in contact points, making it more suitable for environments shared with humans.
