Fiido launches Nomads Pro mid-drive e-bike

The Chinese pedelec manufacturer Fiido has released its first mid-drive model, the Nomads Pro, which is manufactured in France. Building on the previous Nomads model that utilized a rear hub motor, the Pro version features a Mivice X700 mid-drive motor.

While the Mivice motor is rated at 250 watts and claims a torque of 100 Nm, testing on a pre-series model suggests the actual dynamic performance is closer to 70 to 75 Nm. This discrepancy is most noticeable during steep climbs, where it performs behind competitors like Bosch systems. The shortfall in power may be attributed to software issues, which the manufacturer could potentially address via future over-the-air updates.
