Fiji Minister Agni Deo Singh passes away in Australia

Fiji's Minister for Employment, Productivity and Industrial Relations, Agni Deo Singh, has passed away in Brisbane, Australia, while performing official duties related to the welfare of Fijian workers.

Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka and the Fiji Trades Union Congress (FTUC) have both paid tribute to Singh. The FTUC described him as a lifelong advocate for workers' rights and a staunch unionist, noting his extensive history with the Fiji Teachers Union and his role in revitalizing social dialogue through various advisory boards.

India has also extended its condolences through High Commissioner Suneet Mehta and Minister of State for External Affairs Pabitra Margherita, praising Singh's contributions to strengthening the enduring partnership between India and Fiji. Funeral services for the late minister are scheduled for Sunday.
