Fiji rugby coach Jake White names squad for Japan Test

Newly appointed Fiji head coach Jake White has announced a 28-man training squad for the upcoming Centennial Test against Japan. The squad includes three uncapped players—Apolosi Vuniyawa, Kavekini Boselawa, and Nacani Boginisoko—who are all in line for potential debuts.

The selection serves as a platform for White to test squad depth, as several European-based players are unavailable for the tour. The match also marks the beginning of preparations for the November Nations Championship, where Fiji is scheduled to face France, Ireland, and Italy.

Kavekini Boselawa, a Nadroga centre who recently signed with the Swire Shipping Fijian Drua, expressed his honor at receiving the call-up. Boselawa’s rise to the national team follows a rapid progression in his rugby career since he began playing the sport at age 19.
