Fiji Rugby Union seeks new head coach for Flying Fijians
The Fiji Rugby Union has officially launched a recruitment campaign to find a permanent head coach for the Flying Fijians. The search, which has been publicized via the federation's website and social media, aims to secure a leader to guide the national men's XV team through the 2027 Rugby World Cup in Australia.
The successful candidate will hold a contract from October 5, 2026, to December 31, 2027. Beyond managing the national squad, the role involves developing a high-performance environment by collaborating with the Fijian Drua franchise, youth teams, academies, and provincial unions. The position also includes responsibilities for local coach training and establishing long-term succession strategies.
Currently, Senirusi Seruvakula is serving as the interim coach following the departure of Mick Byrne. The federation seeks to use this appointment to establish the Flying Fijians as consistent competitors among the world's top rugby nations.
