Filadelfia hosts Erasmus+ youth exchange on intercultural food dialogue

The town of Filadelfia, Italy, hosted the Erasmus+ Youth Exchange project ‘Sapori che Uniscono – United by Flavors’. Organized by Arte Diem Calabria, the initiative used culinary traditions as a tool for intercultural understanding, social inclusion, and sustainability.

Supported by European Union funding, the project brought together 36 participants from six countries: Italy, Greece, Bulgaria, Romania, France, and Turkey. Activities included intercultural culinary workshops, artistic productions, and discussions regarding the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, specifically focusing on food waste and responsible consumption.

To extend the project's impact, participants created digital educational content, including international podcasts, social media videos, and a multimedia digital recipe book. The program specifically aimed to support youth with fewer opportunities, including those from rural areas, disadvantaged economic backgrounds, or NEET (Not in Education, Employment, or Training) situations.
