FILDAK 2026: Dakar hosts international book and didactic material fair

The 18th edition of the Dakar International Book and Didactic Material Fair (FILDAK) is being held at the Centre International du Commerce Extérieur du Sénégal (CICES). The event, which returned after a seven-year hiatus, features Egypt as the guest of honor and operates under the theme ‘Library, transmission, sovereignty’.

While some publishers noted a lower-than-expected turnout, the fair has maintained an enthusiastic atmosphere, particularly among students from primary and middle schools. The event serves as a meeting point for various stakeholders in the book industry, including individual readers, publishers, and distributors, focusing on literary works, school books, and educational materials.
