Filip Chajzer details unconventional addiction recovery method

Journalist Filip Chajzer has shared details regarding his unconventional approach to overcoming severe drug addiction. In his autobiography, ‘Szczęście na kreskę’, and during public appearances, Chajzer described a method he calls a ‘hybrid of professional therapy with a closed system’.

To avoid the isolation of a traditional rehabilitation center, Chajzer employed a therapist to live in his home for three months. While officially presented as an assistant, the therapist remained with him 24 hours a day to provide constant supervision in a real-world environment. Chajzer noted that this helped prevent the relapse often triggered when transitioning from a controlled facility back to one's original surroundings.

Psychologist Małgorzata Ohme, a former colleague of Chajzer, was asked for her perspective on this method, though she noted that addiction therapy is not her specific area of expertise.
