Filip Hrgović prepares for IBF title defense against Frank Sanchez

Heavyweight boxer Filip Hrgović is preparing for a mandatory title defense following his technical knockout victory over Moses Itaumu, which earned him the IBF world heavyweight title.

Hrgović has expressed his ambition to unify the heavyweight belts. However, he must first face mandatory challenger Frank Sanchez. Sanchez, who previously stepped aside to allow the Itaumu fight to proceed, has confirmed his readiness to fight Hrgović, suggesting the bout could take place in December or January.

Sanchez stated his intention to become the first Cuban heavyweight champion, claiming he is faster and stronger than Hrgović. Meanwhile, Hrgović has indicated that while he views fighters like Daniel Dubois and Agit Kabayel as significant challenges, his immediate contractual obligation is to defend his title against Sanchez.
