Boxing analyst Dev Sahni noted that Hrgović is an underdog in this matchup, citing betting odds that favor Itauma significantly. This is a departure from Hrgović’s previous fights, where he was typically the favorite.

To prepare for the challenge, Itauma has been sparring with Nelvie Tiafack, an undefeated German professional and 2024 Olympic bronze medalist, at the Ben Davison Performance Centre. While Itauma is considered a rising talent, Hrgović brings extensive experience with a professional record of 20-1.
