Filip Jorgensen joins RC Strasbourg on season-long loan from Chelsea

Chelsea goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen is set to join RC Strasbourg on a season-long loan for the 2026/27 campaign. The agreement, which has been finalized following several weeks of negotiations, is a straight loan with no option to buy included.

The 24-year-old, who joined Chelsea from Villarreal in 2024, seeks more regular playing time after struggling to secure a starting position in London. Last season, he made limited appearances, with Robert Sánchez remaining ahead in the club's goalkeeping hierarchy.

The move allows Strasbourg to bolster its squad following the departure of Mike Penders, while providing Jorgensen with consistent minutes in Ligue 1. Chelsea will retain control of the player's long-term future and will reassess his status upon his return next summer.
