Filip Krovinović joins Brazil's Grêmio after leaving Hajduk Split

Croatian midfielder Filip Krovinović, 30, ended a five‑year spell with Hajduk Split in which he made 192 appearances, won two Croatian Cups and scored 21 goals. He signed a contract with Brazilian Serie A side Grêmio, received the number 8 shirt and said he is not in Brazil to sight‑see but to “play football and help the team”. He highlighted the influence of former teammate Jonas and coach Luís Castro in his decision and noted he can operate in several midfield roles.

Krovinović posted an emotional farewell on social media, thanking the club, teammates and supporters. He wrote that the last match ended with an injury, called the fans “the best in the world”, and expressed gratitude for their “unconditional love” as he looks ahead to his new challenge in Brazil.
