Filip Theater to host Akis Dimou comedy production

The pop comedy ‘Tonight We Eat at Iokasti’s’, written by Akis Dimou, is scheduled to run throughout the winter starting October 8, 2026, at the new Filip Theater in Kypseli. Produced by Christos Tripodis’s Metexis company, the play follows Iokasti Papadamou as she prepares a formal family dinner to celebrate her son's return from England.

The event takes a chaotic turn when the neighborhood's top manicurist is murdered just before the meal. The production is described as a modern, subversive comedy involving family misunderstandings, unexpected romances, secrets, and sudden revelations, satirizing the obsessions and contradictions of contemporary life.

The play is directed by Christos Tripodis and Foteini Baxevani, with a cast including Argyris Angelou, Giorgos Giannopoulos, Yolanda Kalogeropoulou, Angeliki Lambri, Christos Tripodis, and Solon Tsounis. Foteini Baxevani also portrays the character Iokasti.
